The Jibcrane
I built a 3m extendable/packable aluminum jibcrane. The build took quite a few days and evenings, mostly drilling and welding along with some thinking. The only things missing are the 3m LANC cable for the remotehandle and a small monitor to frame the shots made with the jib. I got the tripod and some plastic wingnuts from a telescope. The jib works like a charm and hopefully it will be of great use.
Update: I´ve got the LANC cable, now I only need a monitor and I´m good to go..

Update: The DollyJib Rig
Here is a little clip where I´ve upgraded the jibcrane, I´ve incorporated a tilt system so I can tilt the camera without movement of the jib itself. I also tried in the following clip to attach the jibcrane to the track dolly and operate everything together. The possibilities are promising with this setup but operating 3-4 axis moves at once is quite the challenge and needs practice. But without a doubt exiting stuff is possible once practice is gained.
I finally tested out the “DollyJib Rig”, I attached the NXCAM to it and tried shooting with the rig in my bedroom here in Barcelona, I got some interesting moves and nice results, now I´m really exited to shoot some real footage with this setup for example in the wilderness in Iceland. It´s not a question of if, It´s a question of when. Watch the testrun below.
