HEILD translates into Totality and is a non-narrative film featuring the country of my origin. Iceland. The film focuses on all aspects of it´s unique and diverse nature, it´s entire nation and culture. The goal with this film is to present Iceland in a way it has never been presented before, using many elements of higher-end cinematography. There are places here everyone knows, but there are also thousands of well hidden places. To find these locations one has to be adventurous or a local, and to capture them right, one has to be creative and extremely patient.

We took a predominantly orchestral approach to the music in order to encompass the grandeur and gravitas of the visuals. The various scenes convey a desolate, mysterious beauty that we tried to encapsulate in the development of the score. The addition of female vocals brings a sense of nostalgia and heritage to the piece whilst subtle ambient sound design assists with depth and movement.
