Changed Life

The year 2011 has come, with probably the worst imaginable beginning for me. I was partying on new years eve with my friends, we were celebrating and watching the fireworks from the base of the skiresort Nordpark, just above Innsbruck, Austria.  After the show I decided to walk down to Innsbruck with my friend Kristinn, on the way in a forest I slip and start to tumble down, this ends with a 9m drop from a cliff onto the street. I suffered from internal bleeding to the brain and collapsed lungs, broken rib and an injury that will follow me for years if not my entire lifetime, a spinal cord injury. The first thing I heard from the doctors after waking up from the coma at the hospital in Innsbruck was that I would never walk again. I am going to prove them wrong, I simply have to. I cannot sit for the rest of my life, I need to use my legs again. But for now my only bet is to be as good as I can in a wheelchair. I am currently being trained to live in one at Landspítali Grensásdeild Iceland. I will stay here in the clinic until I can live independently in a wheelchair, we are talking about a few months. When something terrible like this happens, the only thing I can do is look on the bright side and focus on the things I can still do. One of them is to film, I can still film. I have an idea of a project I want to do this summer here in Iceland,...

Innsbruck, Austria

We were going to work in Mayrhofen but suddenly our upcoming boss turned into a retard, leaving us unemployed. We waited there for a month to start working but finally a couple of days before it was supposed to begin the boss bailed on us. So we left Mayrhofen and moved to Innsbruck. Here I already have found some work in the event business, setting up stages, building iglus and other stuff while Anna has found some bar work. We found and started renting a big room in a nice central appartment and bought some insanely cheap second hand furniture so everything seems to be falling right into place. Merry Christmas to...

Amnesty International Shoot

Georgie Uris has uploaded the ad for Amnesty International where I was somewhat in control of the camera, motion and angles. I also shot a little behind the scenes clip during the session. Check out the Amnesty ad HERE and the behind scenes clip...

Autumn Forest

I´ve uploaded a new short clip where I was playing around with the dolly and the jibcrane in a small forest next to the appartment we´re currently living in here in Mayrhofen. We don´t have much to do these days so I decided to go out and film with the toys. I called the clip Herbst Wald which is German and translates into Autumn Forest. View the clip HERE. Georgie Uris directed and edited a little dance clip where I was in control of some of the camera angles and moves. Available HERE. I´ve collaborated with a local website making firm called Latitude. My job here is to shoot promotional videos and ads for some of the firms clients. Looking forward to the first shoots and hoping for as many projects as...

Back In The Mountains

We have moved to the Austrian alps, a place that means a lot to me. This time it seems we´re not going to live in Innsbruck though, We got a job in a hotel in Mayrhofen, so we´ll most likely spend the winter here and save up some money. The job starts in december, quiet time until then unless I find some freelance filmjobs here, might be  many possibilities filming ads, snowboarding and maybe some beautiful nature. I said goodbye to Barcelona by shooting the spot for Amnesty International together with Georgie Uris two weeks ago, he´s editing it at the moment. I got some behind scenes footage from the shoot as well, I´ll post it when the spot is ready and online. And HERE are a few behind scenes photos from the shoot. (must be my friend on facebook to view them I think). The music video clip where I was an assistant is online as well, not exactly my style of cinematography but it was fun anyway. It´s available...

Total Change Of Plans

There has been a total change in my plan, I´m sorry to announce that I´m not going to filmschool yet. I wanted to start these studies and thought everything was setup, I was just waiting for it to begin when I found out the school had problems with accepting the payment plans from the Icelandic student loan agency. This was quite a shocker obviously but what can I do, nothing but move on I guess. I´m still planing to go to filmschool, it´s not off the menu just delayed. Although this has happened I´m still getting some experience in the field, I took part in shooting a music video few weeks ago and next week we´re shooting an ad for Amnesty International. We´re planing to shoot it with the jibcrane/dolly setup and the NXCAM. And maybe I´ll collaborate with a studio called GOHO Estudio, they shoot documentaries and events. We´ll see how it goes. Then after about a month or so, Me and Anna will move away from here as there is nothing left for us to do here, we´re thinking maybe Austria. We both like the mountains anyway. I´ve put up a few ads on this website, now I hope it´s not too annoying and you don´t have to click on them, but if you do you´re helping me running this website as it is not free. So if you click on a few, thank...
